Your pump bearings are bad or you have a bent shaft. The pump won’t last long after this type of wear and tear starts to show it’s ugly head. It is possible to rebuild the motor instead of purchasing a new pump. However, the money saved by rebuilding the motor is usually tiny compared to the benefit of having a new pump installed. The new pump comes with a warranty and will generally last about 5 years on average. Swimming pool pumps are no different than any other purchase. You usually get what you pay for! It has been my experience that customer’s who always choose the cheapest option usually end up paying more in the long run.
If you can afford it…buy a high efficiency pool pump. It will pay for itself during its useful life.
