Over the past thirteen years, I have installed thousands and thousands of pool liners in the Metro Atlanta area. One of the most common complaints I have received over this time period is the color fading below the water line due to chlorine or salt systems. So I conducted a 5-year study between 2006 and 2011 to figure out if the Drinkable Pool Water Systems would slow color fading at all. My theory was that the color fading should be significantly less on pools equipped with a drinkable pool water system because there was no chlorine or salt in the water. Well, it turns out that I was correct. While I admit that this wasn’t a scientific study the results were pretty darn clear. After five years, all of the liners installed with a new salt system had faded a minimum of 50% below the waterline as compared to the color of the liner above the water line while all of the liners installed with a drinkable pool water system showed zero fading below the water line after five years. Drinkable pool water systems are pretty expensive but if it really gets on your nerves to watch your new pool liner fade so quickly you might want to consider buying one. You’re welcome for the information!
