This photo shows corrosion caused to a pool pump when a small leak dripped tiny amounts of salt water onto an otherwise beautiful pool pump.
Pool water quality is a concern for all swimming pool owners and community pool operators. Traditionally, pool water quality has been ascertained by the amounts of contaminates in the water. However, a flurry of new scientific health studies has indicated negative health factors for the chemicals used to sanitize the water itself. This means that the water can be completely free of “contaminates” but the Chlorine in the pool water can still cause harm when exposed to the human body. The biggest problem linked to chlorinated pool water so far is asthma related symptoms in young children.
Sometimes it takes a scientific study to tell us something that is painfully obvious to all of us. Chlorine is toxic and does not mix well with the human body. Salt systems are no better because they simply use salt dissolved in the pool water to generate chlorine. If you have a salt system on your swimming pool you are actually swimming in both salt and chlorine.
Whether it is the fear of legal action based on these new studies or a sincere concern for the health of swimmers, pool owners and operators across the country are desperately seeking non chlorine alternatives to keep their pool water clean and clear.
Drinkable Pool Water Systems
Pool owners and operators are turning to drinkable pool water systems in ever increasing numbers to protect themselves and their swimmers. These systems are actually capable of keeping the pool water clean without the use of any chemicals and the technology has a very high customer satisfaction rate. The pool water is cleaned through the use of copper ionization and titanium oxygenation in the same chamber to kill bio threats and burn off chemical threats effectively.
At one time, these systems were only marketed to the very wealthy. However, the prices have come down so much over the years that a quality system costs about the same.
Pool owners who use the system report many different benefits above and beyond their health.
“I climb in swim to the other end of the pool and notice something strange. There is no chemical smell and the water is smooth like silk. Not like softened water but actually silky!”
“I bought the system when I had my 3rd replacement heater installed. It seems my salt water was corroding the inside of my heaters within a year or two of use. The drinkable pool water system changed all that. My heater is still like new.”
“Chlorine makes my skin break out in red patches so I bought a salt system not realizing that there would still be chlorine in the pool. I eventually found the ecosmarte system and love it very much.”
“I was encouraged by my pool guy to get a drinkable pool water system when I changed my liner. He said that the liner would barely fade at all with drinkable pool water. I went with a salt system instead to save $300. Two years later my pool liner is bleached out. I should’ve listened. Maybe when I get my next liner.”
“My last pool had a salt system which caused the white chalky scale to be drawn out of the plaster. It was so ugly and I couldn’t ever get it completely clean. When I built my new pool I went with drinkable pool water because scale cannot chemically occur with drinkable pool water.”
