Swimming Pool Safety Covers serve several purposes. First, they keep children and pets safe by creating a tough barrier between the surface of the pool water and the cover itself. Safety covers can hold tons of weight so several adults could stand on the cover without falling into the pool. Second, safety covers keep leaves and pollen out of the pool which makes maintaining the pool much less work. Third, safety covers provide 95% to 99% shade which helps prevent algae from taking hold.
Tarp covers are a really bad and unsafe alternative to safety covers. The only reason pool owners use tarp covers is because they are relatively inexpensive. However, when you consider the safety risks, the longevity of the cover compared to safety cover longevity, and just basically how ugly it looks in your back yard it makes a lot more sense to use a safety cover instead.
Lazy Day Pools will not even provide an opening or closing service on pools equipped with a tarp cover. We have this policy in place because of the safety issues regarding tarp covers (humans and pets can’t swim if they fall in the pool and the tarp wraps around them) and because it is almost impossible to remove the tarp without dumping tons of accumulated leaves into the pool.
LazyDayPools offers to finance and some really great prices on safety covers for your swimming pool so please consider upgrading this year if you have not already done so.
